Puppies!!!...Puppies!!!...Puppies!!!
Puppies Available Occasionally
I occasionally have pet or show quality puppies available, but on a limited basis since I raise only a few litters per year...... Inquiries are welcome and will be answered as promptly as possible.
Please email me at mailto:papmagic@texas.netif you would like a Buyer's Application emailed to you.
I supply references of previous puppy buyers to inquirers and also ask for references from potential buyers. I offer a lifetime guarantee against blindness (caused by any genetic cause) and Patellar Luxation. My puppies are vet-checked for normal patellas and heart sounds before being placed in a new home.
All pet puppies are sold on spay/neuter contracts if too young to have been altered and I retain the AKC papers until proof of sterilization has been sent to me. I also do occassionally have spayed/neutered young adults or retired show dogs available for placement. If you desire a show/breeding quality dog, it is best that you call and not send a casual email inquiry.
My puppies are raised underfoot to be well-adjusted, adaptable, and happy members of our family. They are given the best food, medical attention and care, are leash-trained, crate-trained, and have been properly socialized. Although my dogs are show dogs, they are also pets and live as house dogs and spoiled children.
Breeding Philosophy
The true measure of success of a dog breeding program is the consistent quality of puppies that it produces, both pet and show. In my more than 20 years experience in dogs as a breeder/exhibitor, I have observed that about 1 of 4 puppies that are born here will actually have the qualities I desire to go on to complete the CH title. This 25% will be campaigned to their title and then will be kept to hopefully pass on those qualities to offspring for my next generation of winners. Obviously, in my quest for that next show stopper, the great majority of the puppies I raise are destined to be adored pets. It is my belief that they should still be healthy and happy representatives of the Papillon breed as well as be attractive.
Many of my pet puppies are actually "show quality", but are lacking in some feature that might make a show career lengthy and thus costly, or that quality may be not desired by me to pass on. To the untrained eye, they are no less beautiful nor less of a Papillon than my show dogs.
My breeding program stresses elegance and temperament. I strive for soundness in both structure and health. I screen my breeding stock for PRA (CERF), patellar luxation (OFA), and when necessary, Auto-immune Thyroiditis (OFA). I carefully plan breedings to give me the best chance of producing the type that embodies my vision of a correct Papillon.
Much more than a "foo-foo" show dog, I believe that the Papillon should be a pint-sized clown and charmer with a ready-for-anything, what-can-I-do-for-you attitude!!
